Nine members of the Gainesville-Haymarket Ruritans spent Dec. 10 cleaning up Catharpin Creek. The started a little before 8 and kept going until 9:30 a.m. or so.
Participating members wre Robin Grove, president; her daughter Ellison; past club president Tracey Walker; Beverly Schultz; David Turnbull, his wife, Ginger, and daughter Serenity; and Bart and Mary Ellen Colandene.
After filling a dozen bags of trash, the orange-vested crew members felt as if they’d cleaned up, according to Colandene.
This Ruritan club holds clean-up mornings in cooperation with VDOT"s “Adopt A Highway” program. Groups, Colandene noted.
