Everyone is invited to the hometown Santa’s Old Bridge Parade that will wind its way down the west side of Old Bridge Road in Lake Ridge on Saturday, Nov. 12. The parade starts at 10 a.m. near Lake Ridge Middle School at the corner of Old Bridge and Mohican. The route is about one mile, past the reviewing stand near Cricket Lane, to Smoketown Road, where the parade will turn right and end behind the Festival at Old Bridge shopping center.
Many community and school groups will be participating in this hometown Santa Parade, now in its 14th year. Look for neighbors and friends among the Scout troops, church and school groups, bands, JROTC marching units and dignitaries. Local motorcycle clubs, antique autos, cheerleaders, dance and drama groups, decorated vehicles, clowns as well as new groups and old favorites will delight parade goers. Costumed character, Dolphin Dave, a veteran of previous parades, will greet spectators along the parade route. Little ones will want to catch a wave from Santa Claus as the Jolly Elf makes his way from the North Pole aboard an OWL fire engine.
Prince William County Police will provide traffic control, and Virginia Department of Transportation crews will provide safety services for the parade. Traffic on the east side of Old Bridge Road will be one lane in each direction for about an hour during parade time. For more information go to http://www.santaoldbridgeparade.org
