Designer Fitness celebrated its 10th year in Gainesville with a gala, free workout sessions and seminars for past and current clients, past and current staff and friends.
Tony Lewis, owner and operator of the center, offered several mini-seminars to enhance the weekend’s special activities. The main attraction, according to Lewis, was the seminar, Nutrition: Stress, Sleep and the Digestive System, taught by Sean Croxton, a video blogger, radio show host and educator and owner of Underground Wellness in San Diego, Calif. Croxton is a personal trainer whose sole concern is with uncovering the root causes of his clients’ health challenges.
Nick Inniss, Lewis’ business partner and head trainer at Designer Fitness, helped run the event, which was held the first weekend in October. Charlet Lewis, as well as regular client Dana Doss who supervised one of the circuits for the workout session Saturday morning, worked to make the weekend celebration fun with a fitness focus.
Doss has been a client at Designer Fitness about a year and a half and described herself as one of the more faithful clients. “I try to work out four to five times a week and average about four. I try hard not to be a gym junky,” she said with a laugh. She said they had a great turnout and received very well-deserved recognition. “I enjoy doing it. I ran the ropes session; like on The Biggest Loser! Participants enjoyed it and thought it was quite challenging.”
Her association with Designer Fitness, she said, “is the first time I’ve worked out with a personal trainer and what I have found is that it’s not just motivating but there’s a level of friendship there, too, with Tony and Nick in the way they personalize the service. They have a real knack for that.”
Charlet Lewis said she and Tony invited everyone to the special event to “mark 10 years with a free workout and to come out and celebrate with us. We want them to enjoy themselves while learning more about what we are doing.”
Patty Martin has been going to Designer Fitness for almost four years and was excited to be participating in the weekend’s activities even though participants at the Power Saturday activities Saturday morning were outside with high winds and a light rain. It was “a full hour of as high an intensity as they can get it for us,” she said.
