Farm Tour Stop 7: Oak Dale Baptist Church

Oak Dale Baptist Church invites farm tour visitors to stop by on Sept. 24 for lunch, a chance to relax and to enjoy the beautiful views including green rolling hills and a neighboring horse farm. Church volunteers will be on hand to serve hot dogs – hot off the grill along with chips, cookies and bottled water. The food is free, although donations will be accepted to benefit the church and its missions. The Oak Dale event will run from 11 a.m.to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Members of Oak Dale will serve as volunteers for the event. Pastor Erik Davidson and Liz Ryder, the church’s missions and outreach coordinator, are hosting the event. The pastor’s wife, Caroline, is also assisting this year; she is, however, spending most of her time in a whole different role – that of first-time mom to five-month old son James Erik.

Davidson said people who come to Oak Dale on the Saturday of the Farm Tour “can expect a great environment for children - including plenty of room for them to run around, a playground, and
a moon bounce.”

Ryder is very excited about the upcoming event. “We look forward to opening the doors of our church, and extending a hand of fellowship to everyone participating in the farm tour,” she said. Visitors are welcome to enter the church, and they’ll be able to view historical materials, photos and documents to learn about Oak Dale. Volunteers will also be on hand to answer questions and talk about the church’s history, she continued. Restrooms are available inside the church, if needed.
