May 1-7 is National Teacher Appreciation Week

Tuesday, May 3, 2016 is National Teacher Appreciation Day and May 1-7 is National Teacher Appreciation Week.

According to a news release from Prince William County Public Schools, the Governor’s Office is partnering with the Virginia Lottery and the Virginia PTA to encourage Virginians to show their appreciation to educators in their lives through social media, using the hashtag #ThankATeacher.

Suggestions from PWCS include “Share a picture of yourself holding a piece of paper with the simple message saying “Thank You”; a picture of your child with his or her teacher; or share a picture of yourself with your favorite teacher, past or present.”
