Distribution of Child Pornography
On Sept. 1, police were notified by an Internet Crimes Against Children [ICAC] Task Force that the accused had been using the internet to transmit child pornography with an undercover detective. A search warrant was executed at the residence of the accused where computers were seized. The accused was arrested without incident. Arrested: Timothy George Melton, 54, of 14359 Shaw Ct. in Woodbridge. Charged with distribution of child pornography. Court date unavailable, held on a $5,000 secured bond.
Solicitation of a Minor
On Sept. 3 at 1:15 p.m., police responded to investigate a child solicitation that was reported to have occurred in the area of Rosemary Drive and Sudley Road in Manassas. The investigation revealed that the accused had asked the victim, a 12 year old male of Manassas, to use his phone as both were passing on the street in the area above. In doing so, the accused was able to obtain his cell number. That evening, the accused called the victim and solicited sexual acts. Police were notified. The accused was located at Shopper’s Food Warehouse where he was arrested without incident. Arrested: Jose Raul Lopez Zura, 32, of 4849 Alan Ct. in Manassas. Charged with use of communication device to solicit a minor and solicitation. Court date unavailable, held without bond.
Burglary
On Sept. 4 at 10:14 p.m., police responded to the 13800 block of Delaney Road in Dale City for a burglary in progress. Homeowner reported to police that he had heard a noise coming from a family room inside the residence. Upon investigating the noise, he located the accused who then attempted to flee. The homeowner was able to subdue the accused until police arrived. The accused had a Playstation game console, which belonged to the homeowner, in his possession at the time of the arrest. Arrested: Allan Martinez-Escalante, 19, of 4610 Charleston Ct. in Dale City. Charged with burglary. Court date set for Oct. 28, 2011, held without bond.
Filing a False Police Report
On Sept. 2 at 8:09a.m., police responded to investigate an alleged abduction and sexual assault that was reported to have occurred in the 13900 block of Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge. The investigation revealed that the victim had lied to police about the incident and was charged. Arrested: Tyasha Pratt-Blanks, 34, of 13964 Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge. Charged with filing a false police report. Court date unavailable.

Burglary
On Sept. 5 at 11:01 p.m., police responded to the 13100 block of Minnieville Road in Woodbridge for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 9 a.m. Sept. 2 and 11 p.m. on Sept. 5. Entry appeared to have been made through a side window, which had been pried opened. An undisclosed amount of U.S. currency was reported missing.
Burglary – Copper Piping
On Sept. 5 at 4:13 p.m., police responded to the 13500 block of Kerrydale Road in Dale City for a burglary to a vacant residence. Property owner reported to police the burglary occurred between 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 1 and 4 p.m. on Sept. 5. Entry appeared to have been made through a rear door, which had been pried opened. Copper piping and a microwave valued around $700 were reported missing.

On Sept. 2 at 4:10 p.m., police responded to the 6900 block of Scenic Point Pl. in Manassas for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Entry appeared to have been made through a side door that had been forced opened. A TV valued around $1,500 was reported missing.
Burglary
On Sept. 2 at 12:39 p.m., police responded to the 4871 block of Crestleigh Ct. in Woodbridge for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 5 p.m. Aug. 26 and 5 p.m. Aug. 28. Entry appeared to have been made into an opened attached garage. A bicycle valued around $65 was reported missing.
Attempted Burglary
On Sept. 5 at 1:30 p.m., police responded to the 19000 block of Fuller Heights Road in Triangle for an attempted burglary. Homeowner reported to police that between 7 a.m. Sept. 2 and 1 p.m. Sept. 5, an unknown person(s) attempted entry into the residence by prying open the front door. No entry was gained into the residence and no items were reported missing.
