PWC Police Beat 8/23/11

INCIDENT REPORTS
Armed Robbery

On Aug. 22 at 10:45 a.m., police responded to the Bank of America at 1708 Financial Loop in Woodbridge for a robbery. The male victim, 37, reported to police that at around 5 a.m., he was attempting to withdraw money from the ATM when a vehicle pulled up. Three unknown men exited the vehicle where one of the men displayed a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. No injuries were reported. The victim was only able to describe two of the three men.  Lookout: Two black males, between 20 and 30, thin builds.

Brandishing
On Aug. 21 at 9:29 p.m., police responded to the area of Minnieville Road and General Washington St. in Dale City for brandishing. The male victim, 18 of Dale City, reported to police he was driving his vehicle, with two other passengers, on Minnieville Road in the area above when a silver colored SUV pulled up to the driver’s side of the vehicle. A passenger in the vehicle displayed a handgun and pointed towards the victim. The vehicle then sped away down General Washington Street. No injuries were reported and no shots were fired. The victim was unable to provide police with a further description of the vehicle or the occupants. 


OTHER INCIDENT REPORTS
Burglary

On Aug. 22 at 4:41 p.m., police responded to the 9900 block of Jay Lane in Bristow for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between 8 a.m. and 4:25 p.m. Entry appeared to have been made through a rear door that had been forced opened. Two handguns, electronics and other items valued around $4,000 were reported missing.

Burglary
On Aug. 22 at 4:30 p.m., police responded to the 15500 block of Ridgecrest Dr. in Dumfries for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between midnight and 6 a.m. Entry appeared to have been made into an attached garage, which was left opened. Four bicycles valued around $600 were reported missing. The homeowner also reported to police his garage was entered on Aug. 17 between 9 p.m. and midnight. Entry, again, was made into an attached garage, which was left opened. One bicycle valued around $200 was noted as missing.

Burglary
On Aug. 22 at 10:16 a.m., police responded to the 14600 block of Cloverdale Road in Woodbridge for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between 6 p.m. on Aug. 21 and 10 a.m. on Aug. 22. Entry appeared to have been made through a basement-level window, which was forced opened. Items valued around $400 were reported missing. 

Burglary to Business
On Aug. 22 at 7:07 a.m., police responded to Pohanka Collision at 17884 Fraley Blvd. in Dumfries for a burglary. Employees reported to police the burglary occurred between 8 p.m. on Aug. 20 and 7 a.m. Aug. 22. Entry appeared to have been made through a side bay door that was left unlocked. Several offices were ransacked. A laptop and other items valued around $2,000, in addition to an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency was reported missing. 

Burglary
On Aug. 21 at 10:50 p.m., police responded to the 13800 block of Tartan Hills Pkwy. in Bristow for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between 1 p.m. on Aug. 19 and 2:30 p.m. Aug. 21. There were no signs of forced entire into the residence. Jewelry valued around $7,000 was reported missing. 

Burglary
On Aug. 20 at 10:04 a.m., police responded to the 8100 block of Oak St. in Manassas for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between noon Aug. 13 and 9:45 a.m. on Aug. 20. Entry appeared to have been made through a side door. There were no signs of forced entry. An undisclosed amount of U.S. currency was reported missing. 

Attempted Burglary
On Aug. 22 at 2:26 p.m., police responded to the 1400 block of Bayside Ave in Woodbridge for an attempted burglary. Homeowner reported to police between 8 and 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 21, she was sitting on her couch when she heard knocking at the front door. Upon investigating the noise, through the peephole, she observed an unknown man possibly attempting to open her door. The homeowner made a banging noise on her side of the door, which caused the man to flee the area. No entry was gained and no items were reported missing. Lookout: Hispanic male, between 18 and 25, 5’9” 150 lbs., thin build, black hair. Unknown clothing description.

Attempted Burglary to Business
On Aug. 22 at 9:30 a.m., police responded to Mattress for You at 14482 Jefferson Davis Hwy. in Woodbridge for an alarm. Police responded and discovered a rear door, which had been pried opened. No entry is believed to have been made due to the audible alarm. No items were reported missing.
