INCIDENT REPORTS
Home Invasion
On Aug. 13 at 10:51 p.m., police responded to the 3800 block of Ogilvie Ct. in Woodbridge for a burglary. A male resident, 37, reported to police he was in the basement watching TV when three unknown men entered the residence through an unlocked rear sliding glass door. One of the men displayed a handgun, while one of the other men tied the victim up with an extension cord. The men took the victim’s car keys before two of the men searched the rest of the residence. Two other male residents, 24 and 47, were in their separate rooms on the upper levels of the residence. The men ordered both of those residents to the ground and took an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency from each of them. No injuries were reported. This incident is not a random act. Investigation continues. Lookout: Three black males, between 25 and 30. First male was 6’0” 200 lbs., medium build, short bushy black hair, brown eyes, clean shaven. Last seen wearing a red shirt, tan shorts and white shoes. Second male was 5’9” 180 lbs., medium build, short bushy black hair, brown eyes, goatee, noticeable mole on the right side of his face; armed with handgun. Unknown clothing description. Third male was 5’9” 180 lbs., medium build, black hair, brown eyes. Unknown clothing description.

Armed Robbery
On Aug. 13 at 6:13 a.m., police responded to the Bank of America at 1701 Financial Loop in Woodbridge for a robbery. The male victim, 40 of Woodbridge, reported to police he was attempting to make a deposit at the drive-up ATM when an unknown man approached his vehicle and displayed a handgun, demanding money. The victim handed over an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency before fleeing the area. No injuries were reported. Lookout: Black male, between 20 and 30, 5’8” 150 lbs., medium build, black hair with braids, blue eyes, goatee. Last seen wearing black shirt and blue jeans.

Suicide
On Aug. 12 at 7:47 p.m., police responded to the area of Deepford and Oakwood drives in Lake Ridge for a reported suicide. The male victim, 41 of Haymarket, reported to family he was suicidal and in the area above. Police responded and located the victim’s vehicle unoccupied. Prince William County Police K-9 and Fairfax County Police helicopter were called in and searched the area. After an extensive search, the Prince William K-9 officer located the victim, deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in a remote area near the reservoir. Identified: David Wayne Baumgardner, 41, of Haymarket.

Peeping
On Aug. 14 at 10:49 p.m., police responded to the 13100 block of Minnieville Road in Woodbridge for a suspicious person. Homeowner reported to police he was informed by a neighbor that an unknown man was on a ladder looking into his residence. No entry was made into the residence. The unknown man fled the area. Police canvassed the area but did not locate the man. No description of the man could be provided to police.

ARRESTS
Sexual Assault / Abduction
On Aug. 13 at 2:47 p.m., police responded to the community pool at 1881 Sugar Hill Dr. in Woodbridge for an assault. The female victim, 19 of Manassas, reported to police she was at the pool when the accused, a resident, walked up to her and sexually assaulted her. During the encounter, the accused forcibly grabbed the victim and pulled her closer to his body. The victim was able to get away and contact police. The accused was located at his residence and arrested. Arrested: Miguel Angel Hernandez, 45, of 1703 Shady River Ct. i#613 in Woodbridge. Charged with sexual battery and abduction. Court date set for Sept. 7, 2011, held without bond.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm
On Aug. 13 at 1:04 a.m., police responded to the 12400 block of Cavalier Dr in Woodbridge for a shooting. The investigation revealed that the accused and victim, known acquaintances, and two other males were in the attached garage of the residence looking a handgun. The accused allegedly picked up the handgun and pulled the trigger, striking the male victim, 23, in the arm. The shooting appeared accidental. The victim was flown to an area hospital for nonlife-threatening injuries. The accused was arrested and charged. Arrested: Dustin Amurao Atienza, 24, of 12442 Cavalier Dr. in Woodbridge. Charged with reckless handling of a firearm. Court date set for Sept. 10, 2011, released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.

Burglary
On Aug. 12 at 3:51 p.m., police responded to the 18900 block of Red Oak Lane in Triangle for a burglary in progress. Homeowner reported to police that she was in her bedroom when she heard a crashing sound. Upon investigating the noise, she observed a man, the accused, trying to remove a TV from her living room. The homeowner recognized the accused as an acquaintance of a neighbor. The accused fled the house once discovered by the homeowner. It appeared the accused entered the residence through an unlocked front door. The accused was later seen returning to his friend’s residence where he was arrested.  Arrested: Louis Simone Ashford, 30, of 130 Debra Dr. in Stafford. Charged with burglary. Court date unavailable, held without bond.

CRIMES SOLVERS CASE
Vandalism to School
On Aug. 13 at 12:19 a.m., police responded to Neabsco Elementary School at 3800 Cordell Ave. in Woodbridge for a destruction of property call. School security reported to police that between 1 a.m. on Aug. 12 and 12:10 a.m. on Aug. 13, an unknown person(s) spray painted on a wall to the school, two classroom trailers, a storage container and four telephone boxes on the property. Total damage was estimated around $300. 

Grand Larceny
On Aug. 10 at 2:12 p.m., police responded to the First Church of Nazarene at 14001 Smoketown Road in Woodbridge for a larceny. Staff reported to police between midnight and 5 p.m. on Aug. 9, an unknown person entered the computer lab within the church a removed a computer. A second computer was also noticed missing on Aug. 5. Both computers were valued around $1,100 total. Burglary
On Aug. 13 at 5:03 p.m., police responded to the 13600 block of Santa Rose Ct. in Manassas for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 9 and 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 10. Entry appeared to have been made through an unlocked window. An undisclosed amount of U.S. currency was reported missing.

Burglary to Business
On Aug. 12 at 7:57 a.m., police responded to LKO Northern Virginia at 17445 Old Stage Coach Road in Dumfries for a burglary. Business owner reported to police a surveillance camera on the property, triggered at 3:45 a.m., observed an unknown man jumping over a fence and stealing 50 aluminum rims valued around $900. No other items were reported missing. Lookout: Black male, between 40 and 50, 5’10” 250 lbs., heavy build, black hair, goatee. Last seen wearing a long sleeve shirt, skull-style cap, black jeans and work-style gloves.

Burglary
On Aug. 8 at 3:36 p.m., police responded to the 2800 block of John Coffee Ct. in Woodbridge for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between 4:30 p.m. on July 31 and 3 p.m. on Aug. 8. Entry appeared to have been made through an opened attached garage. No entry was made into the main residence. Tools valued around $1,200 were reported missing. 

Attempted Burglary
On Aug. 14 at 4:58 p.m., police responded to the 13900 block of Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge for an attempted burglary. Homeowner reported to police that between 1 and 3 p.m., an unknown person(s) attempted entry into the residence through a window that was unsecured due to an air conditioning unit. Entry does not appear to have been made and no items were reported missing.
