ARRESTS
Unlawful Wounding

On Aug. 11 at 5:42 a.m., police responded to the 3500 block of Earl Ct. in Triangle for a disorderly person. The female victim, 25 of Triangle, reported to police she and the accused, a known acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused allegedly struck the victim several times in the face and knocked her to ground. The victim was transported to an area hospital for minor injuries. The accused was arrested without further incident. Arrested: Lawrence Thomas Daniels, 29, of the 3500 block of Earl Ct. in Triangle. Charged with unlawful wounding. Court date unavailable, held on a $10,000 secured bond.

Felony Child Neglect
On Aug. 11 at 8 a.m., police responded to the area of Cherrydale Road and Dale Boulevard in Dale City in reference to a found child. The caller reported to police she was leaving for work when she saw a young girl walking in the street. The caller approached the child and remained with her until police arrived. The girl, 3, was able to guide police back to her residence in the 3400 block of Castle Hill Dr., which had an open front door. A family member was located inside the residence. The investigation revealed that the mother, the accused, was not home with the child. While police were conducting the investigation, the accused returned home carrying a half bottle of wine and in possession of marijuana. The child was found to be unharmed and in otherwise good condition. The accused was arrested and charged. Arrested: Shamika Koyce Dunn, 21, of 3413 Castle Hill Dr. in Woodbridge. Charged with felony child neglect, possession of marijuana and drinking in public. Court date unavailable, released on a $1,500 unsecured bond.

Felony Hit and Run / Reckless Driving
On Aug. 10 at 9:07 p.m., police responded to the parking lot of the Bottom Dollar at 8313 Sudley Road in Manassas for a crash. The investigation revealed the accused was driving a pickup truck in the parking lot at a high rate of speed when the vehicle struck a set of carts that were being pushed by an employee of the store, a 58 year old man of Manassas. The force knocked the victim to the ground and the accused was seen fleeing the area. A witness to the incident followed the accused to the area of Community Drive and West Point Court where the accused then struck the witness’s vehicle after they tried to block him in. The accused then returned to Bottom Dollar where he was met by police and arrested. The victim was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. The witness was not injured. Arrested: Douglas Vladimir Monge Baires, 35, of 10135 Lomond Dr. in Manassas. Charged with two counts of felony hit and run, reckless driving, reckless driving on private property and failure to obtain a Virginia license. Court date set for Sept. 13, 2011, held on a $10,000 secured bond.

OTHER INCIDENT REPORTS
Burglary

On Aug. 11 at 7:20 p.m., police responded to the 3800 block of Fortuna Ct. in Woodbridge for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Entry appeared to have been made through an unsecured ground level window. Electronics valued around $400 were reported missing.

Burglary
On Aug. 11 at 1:36 a.m., police responded to the 12000 block of Saranac Place in Manassas for a burglary in progress. Homeowner reported to police she was closing her garage door when she observed an unknown man opening the passenger door to her vehicle parked in garage. Once discovered by the homeowner, the unknown man fled the area. Police canvassed the neighborhood but did not locate the man. No items were reported missing. Lookout: Black male, between 20 and 25, 5’11” 160 lbs., medium build, black hair. Last seen wearing dark-colored pants, dark red shirt, Converse-style shoes and a black and orange colored backpack

Burglary
On Aug. 9 at 1:40 p.m., police responded to the 8100 block of Pointer Lane in Manassas for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police the burglary occurred between 5 p.m. on Aug. 8 and 1:20 p.m. on Aug. 9. Entry appeared to have been made through a side window. There were no signs of forced entry. A TV, laptop and camera valued around $800 were reported missing.
