Attempted Strong-Armed Robbery
On Aug. 8 at 6:55 p.m., police responded to the 10300 block of Portsmouth Rd in Manassas for a robbery. The female victim, 30 of Manassas, reported to police that she was getting into her vehicle in the above area when she was approached by an unknown man who attempted to grab her wallet. The victim yelled at the man who then fled on foot. No injuries were reported and no items were taken. Lookout: Black male, between 18 and 20 years of age, 5’08” 190 lbs., medium build, brown eyes, black hair. Last seen wearing a dark blue striped shirt, black jeans and a blue baseball style hat.
ARRESTS
Attempted Malicious Wounding
On Aug. 7 at 11:50 a.m., police responded to the 11300 block of Bulloch Dr. in Manassas for a domestic. The victim, an adult woman of Fredericksburg, reported to police she had met up with the accused, a known acquaintance, in the parking lot in the above area. The victim, standing next to a vehicle, was having a verbal argument with the accused, who was in the driver’s seat. The argument then escalated and the accused suddenly accelerated, catching the victim’s arm in the truck and dragging her approximately 30-50 feet. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated at an area hospital. The accused, who remained at the scene, was arrested without further incident. Arrested: William Patrick Brown, 19 – no fixed address. Charged with attempted malicious wounding. Court date set for Sept. 13, 2011, held without bond

Burglary
On Aug. 8 at 9:07AM, police responded to the 14700 block of Darbydale Ave. in Woodbridge for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 11 p.m. on Aug. 7 and 9 a.m. on Aug. 8. Entry appeared to have been made through a rear door which had been pried opened. Copper piping valued around $3,000 was reported missing.
Burglary
On Aug. 6 at 4:36 p.m., police responded to the 7400 block of Forrester Lane in Manassas for a burglary. Homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred between 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 5 and 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 6. Entry appeared to have been gained through a rear sliding glass door, which had been forced opened. A computer and a handgun valued around $1,000 and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency were reported missing.
Burglary
On Aug. 6 at 6:12 a.m., police responded to the Virginia Oaks Golf Course at 7950 Virginia Oaks Dr. in Gainesville for a burglary. Staff reported to police the burglary occurred between 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 5 and 5:20 a.m. on Aug. 6. Entry appeared to have been made into a golf cart garage located on the property. A golf cart valued around $1,000 was reported missing.
