INCIDENT REPORTS
Strong Armed Robbery

On July 28 at 8:28 p.m., police responded to investigate an alleged robbery, which was reported to have occurred in the 13600 block of Greenwood Dr in Woodbridge. The male victim, 17 of Woodbridge, reported to police he was in the parking lot of Minnieville Elementary School with a group of friends when a light green vehicle pulled up. A group of unknown males got out of the vehicle and approached them. During the encounter the group of males attempted to fight the victim and his friends. One of the males struck the victim in the face, which knocked him to the ground. The males began hitting him on the ground before taking his wallet and fleeing. The victim was not seriously hurt and was unable to provide a description of the assailants other than describing them as black males, possibly in their teens.

OTHER INCIDENT REPORTS
Burglary

On July 28 at 10 p.m., police responded to the 14800 block of Empire St. in Dale City for a burglary in progress. Homeowner reported to police that two friends had come to her residence to visit. As they rang the doorbell, they could see an unknown man within the residence. When the man heard the doorbell, he ran to the rear of the residence where he fled on foot. The homeowner was home at the time but was unaware of the man inside the residence. There were no signs of forced entry into the residence. Entry is believed to have been gained through an unsecured rear door. No items were reported missing. A description could not be provided to police due to curtains obstructing the view inside the residence.

CRIME SOLVERS CASES
VRE / Commuter Lot Vehicle Larcenies
Since early July 2011, there have been several reports of tire and rim larcenies from vehicles parked in commuter lots and garages at area Virginia Railway Express and commuter locations. These larcenies have been reported to have occurred during the day hours, 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., while vehicle owners were at work. Police have increased their patrols and continue to monitor the area commuter and VRE lots within Prince William County. Commuters are urged to report suspicious activity to the police at 703-792-6500. See individual releases below.

Vehicle Larceny
On July 28 at 3:29 p.m., police responded to the commuter lot at Jefferson Davis Highway and Dumfries Road in Dumfries for a vehicle larceny. Caller reported to police that two vehicles were parked in the lot that appeared to of had the tires and rims removed. The first vehicle was located, which had all four tires stolen, as well as the stereo. Entry appeared to have been made into the vehicle through a passenger window that had been smashed out. The second vehicle was located; it had one tire missing. A second tire had been removed but was not stolen. No entry was made into this vehicle. Total damage and stolen items were valued around $3,000.

Vehicle Larceny
On July 15 at 4:35 p.m., police responded to the VRE parking garage at 1040 Express Dr. in Woodbridge for a vehicle larceny. Police located a vehicle that had all four tires and rims missing. Vehicle owner reported to police the vehicle had been parked in the lot between 5:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. No entry was gained into the vehicle. Total value of the stolen property was estimated around $3,000.

Vehicle Larceny
On July 15 at 4:35 p.m., police responded to the VRE parking garage at 1040 Express Dr. in Woodbridge for a vehicle larceny. Caller reported to police that two vehicles were located within the parking garage that appeared to of had the tires and rims removed. Both vehicles were parked on different levels within the garage. The first vehicle, parked initially at 5:30 a.m., was located that had all four tires and rims stolen. The second vehicle, parked sometime around 7:30 a.m., was located which, also, had all four tires removed. No entry was gained into either vehicle. Total value of stolen property was estimated around $10,000.
