Manassas Drive to be repaved in Manassas Park! NO PARKING 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Sept. 4

The City of Manassas Park’s with Branscome Paving, Inc. to perform road resurfacing on Manassas Drive between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, continues through Friday, Sept. 4.

During this time, it is essential that cars not be parked on the street so that these operations can be performed safely and efficiently. Therefore, on-street parking is prohibited along posted areas of Manassas Drive during this period.

Any vehicles parked on the street during posted hours of construction will be towed at the owner’s expense.

If you have a specific need for extra parking during this time, the City asks that you park your vehicles in the lower parking lot at Costello Park, behind the Community Center and adjacent to the Miracle League Field, which can be accessed from Lambert Drive and Colburn Drive.

If you require transportation between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. from your residence to a vehicle parked in this lot (or vice versa), contact the Community Center at (703) 335-8872.

The paving contractor will do its best to ensure access to your home during the construction period.  However, many aspects of the repaving process can pose hazards to persons and property, and we therefore ask for your cooperation and vigilance to ensure the safety of the public and to reduce the risk of damage to vehicles.

City officials thank residents in advance for their patience and cooperation during the completion of this project.

While Section 15-4 (d) of the City Code exempts this work from the maximum permissible sound pressure levels, city officials state that they do understand that this work may be an inconvenience for residents and apologize in advance.

According to a news release, “We strive to do our best to mitigate such effects on our residents while minimizing traffic congestion and balancing project schedules and project urgency.”

Questions or comments about the roadway resurfacing program should be directed to the Manassas Park Department of Public Works at (703) 393-0881.

Residents who would like to discuss this or any other issue should contact the city manager at (703) 335-8813 or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
