VA Rte. 28 (Nokesville Road) between Bristow Village Boulevard and Battalion Square will again be closed in both directions Friday and Sunday nights so that crews can continue storm sewer line work, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Closure times:
10 p.m. Friday, July 10 to 5 a.m. Saturday, July 11
10 p.m. Sunday, July 12 to 4 a.m. Monday, July 13
Traffic will be detoured via Fitzwater Drive, Kettle Run Road and Vint Hill Road.
The work is part of Prince William County’s $69.9 million Route 28 widening project. Phase One, which involves relocating Vint Hill Road to Route 28’s intersection with Infantry Lane and widening Va. Rte. 28 to six lanes between Linton Hall Road and the relocated Vint Hill Road, is scheduled for completion in July 2016.
Construction of Phase Two, which involves widening Va. Rte. 28 to four lanes between the relocated Vint Hill Road and Fitzwater Drive, is scheduled to begin in March 2016 and has an estimated completion date of December 2017.
