Virginia Department of Transportation will host a “Pardon Our Dust” meeting Wednesday, June 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Chorus Room at Brentsville District High School, 12109 Aden Road in Nokesville.

The meeting is about the closing of Brentsville Road to through traffic for six months starting Saturday, June 22 in order to repair and replace the bridge over Broad Run. An earlier edition of the story reported the closing date as June 20. VDOT changed that to Monday, June 22.

Traffic will be detoured via Lucasville Road, Godwin Drive, Clover Hill Road, Dumfries Road (Business Route 234) and Prince William Parkway.

The Brentsville Road closure will last for the duration of the $2.8 million project, which is scheduled for completion in December.

According to VDOT, the existing two-lane bridge was built in 1957. The superstructure has been deemed to be in poor condition and the substructure in fair condition. The project will replace the superstructure with a continuous structure and repair the substructure.
