New elementary school in Bristow named in honor of fallen police officer Chris Yung
Prince William County School Board voted unanimously on March 18 to name the new “Devlin Road” elementary school under construction at 12612 Fog Light Way, Bristow, in honor of the late Chris Yung, Prince William County police officer and Iraq war veteran.
Officer Yung was killed in a motorcycle crash while responding to a separate automobile accident. Yung served on the police force for seven years and had lived in Bristow for six years.
The principal of Chris Yung Elementary School is Kathy Notyce, former principal of Mullen Elementary School.
A dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 27 at 6 p.m.
