DMV working to open customer centers today, Jan. 31, fixing IT issues
Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) was originally closed on Saturday, Jan. 31, as a result of a service failure of the state’s IT service provider.
However, systems are being recovered and DMV is working to open as many offices as possible today, according to a news release at 10:27 a.m.
Systems may be slow; and on the last day of the month, DMV offices will be extraordinarily busy. We appreciate our customers’ patience.

Customers who can conduct their DMV business online are encouraged to use the website. More than 30 transactions are available online.
