Congressman Wittman to be guest host of the Jan. 23 John Fredericks Show

Congressman Rob Wittman (R-VA) who represents part of the Prince William County area will be the guest host tomorrow morning, Friday. Jan. 23, from 6 to 10 a.m., for The John Fredericks Morning Radio Show for the third time.

The John Fredericks Morning Show is heard on WHKT AM 1650 in Hampton Roads and WNTW AM “The Answer” in Richmond and throughout Central Virginia. The show streams digitally on http://tunein.com/radio/WHKT-1650-s29343

The show known as “Common Sense for The Commonwealth”  is in its fourth year and features interviews with top state and national political officials on a daily basis. A self styled “populist conservative,” Fredericks is popular with listeners across the ideological spectrum, a news release said.

Wittman was first elected to Congress in December, 2007. He was re-elected for his fourth full term in November. Friday’s appearance will be his third appearance on the show. Wittman last commanded the microphone as a guest host for Fredericks in April 2014.

The congressman, a graduate of Virginia Tech, won his first campaign for public office in 1986 when he was elected to the Montross Town Council, where he served for 10 years, four of them as mayor. In 1995, he was elected to the Westmoreland County Board of Supervisors and became its chairman in 2003.

In 2005 Wittman won a seat to the Virginia House of Delegates, where he served until he won his 2007 Congressional race.

Wittman serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the Committee on Natural Resources, where he’s earned a reputation as a defense expert and a champion of the Chesapeake Bay. He holds a doctorate in public policy.

Guest host Wittman was quoted in the news release as saying… “I’m excited to talk with his ever growing and very informed audience on the issues facing our nation,” Wittman said. “We are at critical time in our country’s history.”
