High school sophomores in Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park who want a head start on a special future in STEM areas are encouraged to apply to attend The Governor’s School @ Innovation Park.
Prospective students and their parents are invited to attend an information meeting scheduled for Tuesday, December 9 at 7 p.m. in room 1101 at the Edward L. Kelly Leadership Center, 14715 Bristow Road, Manassas, VA 20112.
The half-day academic year Governor’s school serves juniors and seniors in Prince William County Public Schools, Manassas City Public Schools, and Manassas Park Public Schools.
Students interested in attending the Governor’s School may now apply by submitting the “Intent to Apply” online form found on the school’s website. After submitting the online form, follow instructions to download the application. PWCS students interested in applying should submit the PWCS application to Dr. Jim Mudd, Supervisor of Gifted Education, by February 6, 2015.
If students are submitting an application through their base school, it is recommended that all application materials be submitted no later than January 30, 2015 to ensure delivery to Dr. Mudd by the February 6 due date.
Students will need to have completed algebra II/trigonometry as well as biology and chemistry by the end of 10th grade to apply.
