Eight people displaced in Nov. 3 fire in Dale City; property damages set at $90,000

On Monday, November 3rd, at approximately 1:00 p.m., fire and rescue units responded to a structure fire in a two-story single-family home located in the 3300 block of Burleigh Lane in Dale City.

Upon arrival, fire and rescue units observed smoke and fire emanating from the structure’s rear basement door. Firefighters made entry and extinguished the fire in the utility room. They proceeded to search for further extension; no further extension was found.

No injuries reported.

The occupants were not home at the time of the fire. Red Cross was called to the scene to assist eight residents displaced by the fire.

Animal control was called to the scene to assist with animal issues.

A Building Inspector was on scene and posted the structure unsafe for occupancy.

According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, the estimated property damage is $90,000 and the fire is currently under investigation.
