Arrest made in child porn case; string of larcenies to cars continues

Breaking & Entering
At approximately 1:15AM on October 28, 2014, Manassas City Police responded to Exxon, located at 9901 Wellington Rd, for a report of a breaking and entering.  Upon arrival, officers found a suspect inside the business who then fled on foot towards Merrimack Dr.  This is an ongoing investigation.
          Description of suspect: Light-skinned black male wearing a white sweat suit and a Redskins backpack

Robbery
At approximately 1:35AM on October 28, 2014 Manassas City Police responded to 7-Eleven, located at 9056 Liberia Ave, for a report of a robbery.  The reporting party told officers that just a moment prior to their arrival, two adult suspects, one black female and one black male, entered the store and asked about some merchandise.  The female left the store and the male suspect, who had engaged the clerk, then struck the clerk on the face, neck, and shoulder before fleeing the scene in a blue Nissan Altima with the merchandise and the female suspect. The victim, a 61-year-old male, sustained minor injuries.

Larceny from Auto
On October 27, 2014 Manassas City Police met with a resident for a report of a larceny from auto.  The reporting party told officers that during the overnight hours of October 26th, someone went through her vehicle on the 8800 block of Tanglewood Ct and stole her purse containing a wallet, identification documents, and bank cards.  The vehicle was unlocked and parked in front of the owner’s residence at the time of the theft.

On October 27, 2014 Manassas City Police met with a resident on the 10100 block of Strawflower Ln for a report of a larceny from auto.  The reporting party told officers that sometime between 8:30PM on October 24th and 10:30AM on October 25th, someone went into her vehicle and stole CDs and a cell phone charger.  The vehicle was parked in front of the owner’s residence at the time of the theft.

Larcenies from Auto [Previously Released]
On October 25, 2014 Manassas City Police met with residents in the Wellington community for three reports of a larcenies from vehicle.  The larcenies reportedly occurred during the overnight hours of October 24th and were discovered on October 25th.
1)    10100 block of Strawflower Ln | Stolen: several items from his vehicle to include DVDs, CDs, electronics, clothing, and jewelry
2)    10100 block of Strawflower Ln | Stolen: several items from his vehicle to include an iPod and men’s sunglasses
3)    9200 block of Caladium Dr | Stolen: several items to include a stereo face plate and cell phone chargers
There were no signs of forced entry and each vehicle was parked in front of its owner’s residence at the time of the theft.

**Arrests**

Arrest Made in Child Pornography Case – Arrest
On October 24, 2014 Manassas City Investigators, in conjunction with the Northern Virginia-Washington, DC Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and Virginia State Police, concluded a five-month-long investigation regarding the exploitation of children over the internet with the arrest of Jose Gaspar GUEVARA SANCHEZ, 34, of 10005 Lomond Dr, Manassas, VA 20109.

Numerous items were removed from the residence stemming from an August 5th, 2014 search warrant at the suspect’s residence.  GUEVARA SANCHEZ, who was identified as a suspect through investigation and interviews, was charged with distribution of child pornography, possession of child pornography first offense, and six counts of possession of child pornography, second or subsequent offense.  He was held without bond and has a court date pending in Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court.
