Workshop series in Nokesville for those considering a small agricultural operation

The Prince William Soil & Water Conservation District (PWSWCD) will begin a series of workshops for small acreage landowners (5-20 acres) who are thinking of establishing, or have already started, a small-scale/alternative agricultural operation.  These workshops will be held at Windy Knoll Farm, 11602 Kettle Run Rd, Nokesville, VA 20181

The first workshop is on Friday, Sept. 26th from 2-5pm and will be on Small Acreage Crop Options.
Topics to be covered include:
• organic farming
• growing berries & veggies
• establishing bees
• economic planning for your agricultural operation

There is a $15 fee, payable in advance or at the door; checks can be made out to PWSWCD.  Drop off registration, or mail to: Prince William SWCD, Attn: Crops Workshop, 8850 Rixlew Lane, Manassas, VA 20109.

• Nov. 14th: Establishing Wildlife/Pollinator habitats
