Warrenton motorcyclist dies in collision with truck at Nokesville intersection

Crash – Fatality – On August 5th at 7:41AM, officers responded to the area of Aden Rd and Fleetwood Dr in Nokesville (20181) to investigate a crash. The investigation revealed that the operator of a 2008 Buell XB12XT motorcycle was traveling southbound on Aden Rd approaching the four-way stop intersection in the above area, according to Officer Jonathan Perok, spokesman for the police department.

As the operator approached the intersection, the driver of a 2003 Chevrolet 4500 truck, who had previously stopped on Fleetwood Dr, was continuing through the intersection. At that point, the operator of the motorcycle attempted to stop; however, collided with the truck in the intersection, the police report said.

Investigators determined that the driver of the truck had the right-of-way in the intersection at the time of the collision. The operator of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver was not injured. Alcohol and drug use do not appear to be factors in this collision, Perok said.

The operator of the 2008 Buell XB12XT motorcycle was identified as Jason V BANTON, 36, of Warrenton.

The driver of the 2003 Chevrolet 4500 truck was identified as a 38 year old man of Manassas.
