How cool is this? Some NOVA college classes begin at sunrise; others meet at local high schools

If traffic or a busy schedule makes getting a college education difficult, consider Sunrise College and NOVA Next Door offered by the Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College.

With classes starting at 6:30 a.m., Sunrise College was created for people who find it easier to attend college early in the day.

Fall Sunrise College courses begin Aug. 20 and include General Biology, Introduction to Computing, Principles of Macroeconomics, English Composition, U.S. History, Introduction to Computer Applications and Concepts, Introduction to Telecommunications, Linear Algebra, Aerobic Fitness and Principles of Psychology.

NOVA Next Door puts classes close to where people live.

Classes are held at local high schools, including Battlefield (in Haymarket), Brentsville and Patriot (Nokesville), Centreville (Clifton), Manassas Park, Osbourn (Manassas) and Westfield (Chantilly).

Classes meet in the evening once a week for seven or 14 weeks starting Sept. 2, with another seven-week session starting Oct. 20. Learn more at http://www.nvcc.edu/manassas/novanextdoor/.

Beginning with the fall 2014 semester, all NOVA students must register no later than the day before a session begins. Register now and wait to pay tuition until July 28. Starting July 28, tuition is due by 5 p.m. on the next business day after registering.
