Fifteen Prince William County public schools have been honored as part of a Virginia incentive program to recognize schools and school divisions for advanced learning and achievement during the 2012-13 school year.
Honored schools exceeded minimum state and federal accountability standards and achieved excellence goals established by the governor and the Board of Education, based on achievement and performance.
Five PWCS schools that earned the Board of Education Excellence Award met all state and federal accountability benchmarks and made significant progress toward goals for student achievement and expanded education opportunities set by the board and governor.
Ten PWCS schools earned the Board of Education Distinguished Achievement, meeting all state and federal benchmarks and making progress toward the goals.
