The Prince William Farm Bureau has purchased 100 books about agriculture and has distributed one to each elementary school in Prince William County for reading during Virginia Agriculture in the Classroom Week which began Sunday, March 23 and continues through Saturday, March 29.
According to Elaine Yankey, president of Prince William Farm Bureau, the organization is conducting a contest for schools that read that book to all students in K-3.
The school names will be entered into a drawing and the winner will be awarded a “Learning Barn.”
The “Learning Barn” is a barn-shaped bookcase that the Prince William Farm Bureau will stock with 20 books and 4 DVDs about agriculture, Yankey said.
