Help deter auto theft with free VIN etching event in Manassas April 12

Manassas City and Prince William County Police will offer free VIN (vehicle identification number) etching on Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of Starbucks at the Shops @ Signal Hill Shopping Center, 9642 Liberia Ave., Manassas, VA 20110, according to a news release from Adrienne Helms, crime prevention officer for city of Manassas.

Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) Etching, isa fast, safe, and simple process of having a vehicle’s VIN engraved onto its windows using a chemical solution.

It is one of the most effective means to deter auto theft that is currently available, Helms said.

This event will be free to all motorists and no pre-registration is required.
