Habitat for Humanity to explain home repairs options at meeting March 8

Habitat for Humanity will hold a “Home Repair Interest Meeting” on Saturday, March 8,  from 10 a.m. to noon at Ben Lomond Community Center, Room A/B, 10501 Copeland Dr., Manassas, VA 20109, to answer questions answered and hand out application information.

The organization partners with low- to moderate-income homeowners who live in Prince William County, Manassas and Manassas Park to make exterior and interior home repairs that alleviate critical health, life and safety issues or housing code violations. A Habitat news release says the group “is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing.”

How people qualify:
• Live in Prince William County, Manassas or Manassas Park
• Own the home or currently making mortgage payments
• Earn less than 60% of the Area Median Income.
• If a veteran lives in the home earns less than 80% of the Area Median Income
• Demonstrate a challenging circumstance such as limited income, disability, illness or age that prevents you from making the repairs?

According to a statement, “Habitat for Humanity of Prince William County, Manassas & Manassas Park is a nonprofit, locally operated affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Since 1994 we have partnered with families, businesses and volunteers to make safe, affordable and decent homeownership a reality in our community. We have built, rehabbed and repaired more than 130 homes.”
