81 Animals– Adopted During Shelter’s
“My Furry Valentine” Event Last Week
A total of 81 animals from dogs and cats to snakes, a bird and a gerbil, found loving homes during Prince William County’s Animal Shelter’s “My Furry Valentine,” a free adoption event held Feb. 11-16, according to a news release from the Prince William County Police Department, which oversees shelter operations.
Loving individuals opened their hearts and homes during the event to adopt 35 dogs, 27 cats, nine fish, three rabbits, two ferrets, two snakes, one bird, one gerbil and one guinea pig, the release said.
All pet adoption fees were paid during the event by the Prince William Humane Society, which had announced previously that it would partner with the Animal Shelter to encourage more adoptions.
Suzette Kapp, the shelter’s head caretaker, thanked PWHS members who helped staff clean up for the event.
