On Feb. 27, Kristin Clark Taylor will discuss her experiences as the first African-American female White House Director of Communications in Colgan Theater at the Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College, 6901 Sudley Road.
The evening will begin with light refreshments at 6 p.m., followed by Taylor’s presentation at 6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Taylor is an award-winning author, veteran journalist, and nationally recognized communications and political strategist.
She was a member of USA Today’s original creation and launch team. She remained with the newspaper for five years before accepting an offer to work for then-Vice President George H.W. Bush as a communications strategist, press officer and writer.

Taylor recently received the 50th Anniversary Distinguished Alumni Award from Michigan State University College of Arts and Letters.
Her fourth book, “The Forever Box,” was published in 2011 and she is currently working on her next book. Taylor lives in the Washington, D.C., area with her husband, Lonnie.
