Gainesville area drivers should be aware that southbound US 29 to be closed just south of Linton Hall Road (VA 619) from 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25 through 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28. Crews will remove and replace the bridge over North Fork Broad Run.
Message boards will detour drivers via US 15, Heathcote Boulevard and VA 55. Police will also be on site.
While the major replacement work will take place that weekend, drivers can expect some off-peak single-lane closures over the following weeks as crews complete the project, a news release said.
The $1.55 million project is scheduled to be complete in December. Martins Construction Corporation is the contractor.
