Firefighter injured, 3 displaced in two-alarm fire on Navarone Place on Aug. 12

On Monday, August 12, 2013 at approximately 1:50 PM, Prince William County and Manassas City Fire and Rescue units were dispatched to a two story single family house fire in the 10300 block of Navarone Place.

Upon arrival, fire and rescue units found a rapidly spreading fire on the second floor and in the attic, according to Curtis Brodie, battalion chief with Prince William County Fire & Rescue.

Fire and rescue units initiated suppression operations and were able to control the fire in approximately 30 minutes. A second alarm was requested due to fire extent and the weather conditions, Brodie reported.

Three occupants were displaced due to extensive fire damage and one firefighter was injured during the incident, no other reported injuries, according to the fire official.

Smoke detectors were present and did activate. The house was posted unsafe by the Building Department. County Police assisted with traffic control. The fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office, Brodie reported.
