SACC signup by Aug. 21 to start before & afterschool care on the first day of school

The deadline is fast approaching to sign children up for the SACC before- and after- school care—for parents and guardians who want the care to start the same day school opens for fall. And some schools have a waiting list (see end of story).

Children must be enrolled by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21, to attend the PWCS School Age Child Care (SACC) program during the first week of school, Sept. 3–6, 

Children who are signed up on Thursday, Aug. 22 through Wednesday, Sept. 4, will start the SACC program on Monday, Sept. 9.

Registration for the child care program at most elementary schools continues throughout the school year. Register a child by close-of-business each Wednesday for the child to begin on the following Monday.

The SACC program, is administered by Minnieland Academy and provides high quality child care to the families of the Prince William community. Visit the Minnieland web site to complete the SACC online registration. Go to www,minnieland.com and scroll all the way to the bottom of the home page. Then click on SACC.

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Some SACC programs are already fully enrolled and children are being placed on a waiting list.*

*As of 8/9/13 these schools had a waiting list:  Ashland, Buckland Mills, Marshall, Penn, Springwoods, T. Clay Wood, Tyler, Victory, and Westridge Elementary Schools, according to a news release from Prince William County Schools.
