Job fairs this weekend for summer work with Prince William County parks & recreation

Two job fairs for summer work with Prince William County Parks and Recreation will be held March 2 and 3 in Woodbridge. Altogether there are 300 slots available.

This is the same number of parks & recreation jobs filled for summer 2012, according to Dianne Cabot, Parks & Recreation spokesman.

An All Positions-All Locations Job Fair will be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Saturday March 2 at the Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center, 14300 Minnieville Road in Dale City.

Then on Sunday, March 3, the Lifeguard Job Fair will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at Chinn Aquatics and Fitness Center, 13025 Chinn Park Drive, Woodbridge VA 22192. Take a one-piece swim suit and be prepared for an interview and swim test.

Some of the positions to be available this coming summer include lifeguards, camp counselors, food and beverage workers, cashiers, batting cage attendants, dock workers, rangers, ranger aides, sports and specialty instructors.

Cabot noted, “All applicants need to apply online, but we will be interviewing for all summer jobs at the job fair(s).”

According to Cabot, there are a few positions for applicants, age 14, and many more for applicants who are 15 and above.  For camp positions all employees must be 18 years or older, she noted.

The SplashDown Water Park Job Fair was held at Stonewall Jackson High School in Manassas, last Saturday Feb. 23. There were two recruiting sessions–10 a.m. to noon for admissions, park services and food & beverage positions and 1-3 p.m. for lifeguard & aquatics positions.
