The Prince William Public Library System and the Manassas Park Department of Parks and Recreation will offer computer classes for beginners Aug. 21-Sept. 18 at the Manassas Park Community Center, 99 Adams Street, off Old Centreville Road. Classes will be held for five Tuesdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. This short course will cover:
• Computer Basics for Beginners - An introduction to personal computers, how to use a mouse and basic computer definitions.
• More Computer Basics: Keyboard - Designed for those who are totally unfamiliar with the computer keyboard. This is NOT a class in touch typing. It is an introduction to the keys that will be used in the upcoming class.
• Internet 101: Getting Around the Web for Beginners - This program introduces the World Wide Web; shows how to maneuver on a Web page and other basic information about the internet.
• Word Processing: Part 1 and Part 2 - This two part class teaches you how to format text and paragraphs; add, delete and move text; open and save documents and other helpful tasks.
There is a $10 deposit per class, which is refunded the first day of the class. You must be 18 or older to attend. Pre-registration is required. Call 703-335-8872 for more information.
