PWC Tax Administration Office to move Dec. 23 from McCoart Building to Development Services Building

Prince William County’s Tax Administration Office at the James J. McCoart Building will relocate to the Development Services Building, or DSB, at 5 County Complex Court effective Monday, Dec. 23.

The taxpayer services counter at the McCoart Building will close at noon on Friday, Dec. 20; services will still be available by calling taxpayer services during normal office hours or by using the taxpayer portal. In-person services will resume at the new location at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 23.

The Tax Administration Office is relocating to DSB to make it more convenient for customers to obtain permits and make tax and fee payments at a single, centralized location.

“We’ve moved taxpayer services functions to the Development Services Building to improve the customer experience. Now, residents will have access to connected integrated services in one location. When taxpayers are trying to get business licenses, for example, they won’t have to go to DSB to get occupancy permits and then go back and forth between the two buildings,” said Charles Hunter, Assistant Director of Finance for Tax Administration.

The relocated Tax Administration Office and the Tax Administration Office located at Sudley North Government Center, will have updated hours and be open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. In addition to making payments in person, residents also have the option to use the Taxpayer Portal, which is available 24/7, as well as the designated drop boxes at both DSB and Sudley North locations.

Taxpayer Services phones will remain operational between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
