Safford County unveiled a new Veterans Support page on its website Nov. 8.
The page includes information on services the County provides to veterans, including tax relief for disabled veterans, military exemptions and brick sales at the Memorial. The page has been hosting the special social media wall celebrating Operation Green Light for Veterans, with expressions of appreciation to veterans.
A banner was unveiled off the Government Center’s Route 1 entrance with a few special veterans alongside Chairwoman Meg Bohmke and Supervisor Deuntay Diggs with information on how veterans can access the new resource page.
“Stafford is home to more veterans than any other county in Virginia and we greatly appreciate their service to the country as well as to our community,” said Chairwoman of the Board of Supervisors Meg Bohmke. “Our goal is to better serve veterans and consolidate services in one location.”
The page will also include information on annual events such as the County’s Memorial Day Ceremony. It will also be used for future collaborations with other department events either hosting events for or providing information for veterans.
