On Friday, Oct, 11, 2024 at 1:55 p.m. Prince William County fire and rescue units were dispatched to the 13700 blk of Chardonnay Place in Bristow ) after several reports of a house fire.
Matt Smolsky, Fire Marshal and Assistant Fire Chief, said the emergency crews arrived on the scene with the rear of the house on fire which was spreading rapidly into the attic. A quick-fire attack brough the fire under control, the fire official said.
The home sustained extensive damage and was determined to be unsafe to occupy by the Building Official.
The Red Cross is assisting the two adults, and three children displaced.
According to Smolsky, one adult male occupant sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area medical facility. No other injuries were reported.
The Fire Marshal’s Office determined the fire started on the rear deck and was determined to be accidental with multiple possible ignition sources, according to a news release from Prince William County Fire & Rescue.
