Woodbridge Mom & two sons die in house fire; men arrested in Woodbridge road rage incident

Prince William County Police Department DAILY INCIDENT REPORT October 7, 2024

INCIDENTS
• Death Investigation –
On October 4, 2024 at 5:55AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 15700 block of Piedmont Pl. in Woodbridge (22193) to assist Fire and Rescue personnel with a house fire. While investigating the incident, three occupants of the home were initially unaccounted for. As Fire and Rescue personnel continued their efforts, the bodies of the three unaccounted-for family members were located inside the structure where they were pronounced dead. No additional injuries were reported. The fire, as well as the cause and manner of the deaths, are still under investigation. Preliminarily, the deaths do not appear to be suspicious.
Identified:
The deceased were identified as Sameena BEGUM, 49, a 13-year-old male juvenile, and an 8-year-old boy, all of Woodbridge

• Strong-Arm Robbery – On October 5, 2024 at 10:40PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to Bar Louie located at 14091 Promenade Commons St in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed the victim, a 38-year-old man, was assaulted and robbed by a group of unknown men while in the bathroom. An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the victim before the parties dispersed. The victim was treated an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The suspects were not located. One of the suspects was described as black male with dreadlocks wearing blue jeans and a white hooded sweatshirt.

• Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On October 4 at 10:40AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 4300 block of Ensbrook Ln in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shots fired call. Officers located shell casings in the roadway. No injuries or property damage were reported. A suspect described as a black male with medium length dreadlocks, in his early 20s wearing dark-colored shorts and shirt with white socks and slide-style shoes was seen leaving the area at the time of the incident.

• Attempted Residential Burglary – On October 6 at 6:08PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Stone Point Apartments located in the 14900 block of Potomac Heights Pl in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an attempted burglary. The investigation revealed someone attempted to forcibly enter an apartment by kicking in the front door. No injury was made into the home and no property was reported missing.

ARRESTS
• Malicious Wounding | Brandishing a Firearm (Road-Rage) –
On October 6, 2024 at 8:40AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the area of Vinyard Way and Occoquan Rd in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a road rage incident. The investigation revealed both drivers were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, a passenger in one of the vehicles brandished a firearm from his waistband, while one of the drivers pulled out a small pocketknife and slashed towards the other driver, causing a minor laceration to his arm. No other injuries were reported. Following the investigation, one of the drivers, identified as Harry O’Conner CHESTER, and the passenger in the other vehicle, identified as Samuel BERRUM VALENCIA, were arrested.

Charged with malicious wounding

Charged with brandishing a firearm
