• Fatal Crash Investigation – On Friday, Sept. 13, 2024 at 6:07AM, crash investigators responded to the area of Caton Hill Rd near Killarney Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a crash. The investigation revealed the driver of a black 4-door 2017 Toyota Camry was traveling the opposite direction northbound in the southbound lanes when the vehicle collided head-on with a 2015 Toyota Corolla that was traveling southbound. Both occupants in the Camry were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The passenger in the Camry was transported to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries sustained in the collision. Both drivers were also transported to area hospitals with serious injuries.

Shooting Investigation in Gainesville – On Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024 at 9:46PM, officers responded to the Extended Stay America located at 14141 Daves Store Ln. in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a shooting. The investigation revealed the victim, a 33-year-old man, and an unknown man were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the man fired multiple rounds, striking the victim and the victim’s vehicle before leaving the area in a light-colored sedan. Responding officers provided first aid to the victim who was treated at an area hospital for serious injuries. The suspect was not located.

• Shooting Investigation – On Monday, Sept.16, 2024 at 5:30AM, officers responded to the 7300 block of Merritt Park Dr. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed a 19-year-old man, and an acquaintance were inside a vehicle in the parking lot when a round was fired, grazing the man. The injured man was treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries and was not cooperative during the investigation. No additional injuries or property damage were reported.
• Aggravated Assault – On Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024 at 8:04PM, officers responded to the 4100 block of Dale Blvd. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed a 22-year-old man sustained serious injuries by unknown means before walking into a business where police were contacted. The injured man was treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries and was not cooperative during the investigation. No additional injuries were reported.
• Aggravated Assault – On Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024 at 2:07AM, officers responded to El Ranchon located at 13638 Richmond Hwy. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed the victim, a 26-year-old woman, was inside the business when a physical altercation between several other people broke out around her. Before the victim could leave, she was struck in the head by a bottle that had been thrown. While investigating the incident, officers located a second victim, a 25-year-old man, who had also been struck in the head by a bottle. Both victims received treatment for non-life threatening injuries. The involved parties were not located.
• Strong-Arm Robbery – On Sunday, Sept. 15 at 11:31AM, officers responded to the 8300 block of Sudley Rd. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed the victim, a 38-year-old man, was approached by two unknown men near the dumpster area of a local business. During the encounter, one of the men grabbed the victim while the other man took the victim’s money before both suspects ran away. No injuries were reported.

• Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On September 15 at 12:41AM, officers responded to the 12300 block of Valley View Dr. in Nokesville (20181) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed gunshots were heard before two vehicles left the area. No injuries or property damage were reported. Officers located multiple shell casings on the roadway.
Arrests
Murder Investigation – On September 14 at 3:52PM, officers responded to the Sonic Soft Car Wash located at 14109 Richmond Hwy. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shooting. The investigation revealed the victim, a 54-year-old man, and an unknown man, later identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation outside the car wash. The parties separated briefly before another altercation turned physical. During the encounter, a firearm was brandished by the accused and the victim was shot to the upper body. A female acquaintance who was with the accused also brandished a firearm. After the shooting, the suspects fled in their vehicle and were apprehended by Virginia State Police along I-95 in Fairfax County a short time later. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he died as a result of the injuries. One exterior wall of a building was struck by gunfire. No additional injuries or property damage were reported. Following the investigation, both suspects, identified as Jermaine Antwoine LEWIS and Vinisha Lanisa NEVILLE, were arrested. The investigation continues.

•Aggravated Malicious Wounding – On Sunday, September 15, 2024 at 3:59AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 2800 block of Bowes Ln. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed the victim, a 30-year-old man, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim causing him to fall to the floor where he was repeatedly kicked until the parties eventually separated. The victim was treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Walter Hugo CUCHIPARTE PASTUNA, was arrested.

• Malicious Wounding (Domestic Related) – On September 14 at 4:57PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 4300 block of Whitmer Dr. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a domestic dispute. The investigation revealed the victim, a 39-year-old man, and a family member, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused threw a glass bottle, striking the victim in the head. The parties separated and the police were contacted. The victim was treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Antonio Carl James GRAVETTE, was arrested.
