Four vehicles strike horse on side of interstate 85 early on June 15 in Dinwiddie County
Virginia State Police are investigating multiple incidents involving an animal that occurred at 3:31 a.m. this morning , June 15, 2024, on Interstate 85, both northbound and southbound, at the 42-mile marker in Dinwiddie County.
VSP said, “A tractor trailer was traveling northbound on Interstate 85 when it grazed a horse that was on the interstate.This tractor trailer ended up on the right shoulder of the interstate.
“A second tractor trailer traveling northbound in the left lane of Interstate 85 then struck the horse.
“The second tractor trailer then went off the interstate to the left, struck several trees, crossed the southbound lanes of Interstate 85 before hitting the guard rail and additional trees.
“Two additional vehicles also struck the horse.”
There were no injuries.
Va. State Police information officer said there is no further information to release at this time.
