PW Historic Preservation leads June 8 commemoration of 250th Anniversary of Prince William Resolves

In June 1774, a group of concerned Prince William County residents protested the British parliament’s passage of the “Intolerable Acts” by drafting and signing the Prince William Resolves.

Members of the community are invited to join the Prince William Office of Historic Preservation on Saturday, June 8, to commemorate this momentous step towards independence. Attend a free, family-friendly program marking the 250th anniversary of the Prince William Resolves.

Among the planned events are:
• An immersive play reenacting the historic debate
• Children’s activities
• Puppet shows
• Tours of Dumfries and the Weems-Botts Museum
• Food, music and more!

WHEN/WHERE:
Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Merchant Park, 3944 Cameron Street, Dumfries, VA 22026
