Prince William County fire and rescue units were dispatched to a house fire in the 19100 block of Rosings Way (Triangle) at 3:58 a.m., according to Matt Smolsky, Deputy Fire Chief.

Smolsky said crews arriving on the scene were met with a working fire and quickly went to work extinguishing the blaze. One of the home’s occupants had smelled smoke and alerted the other family members who safely evacuated the home prior to the Dumfries-Triangle Fire Department’s arrival.

No injuries were reported. The structure sustained extensive damage, displacing two adults and four children as the Building Official determined the home was unsafe to occupy. The Red Cross is assisting the family.

The Fire Marshal’s Office was still on the scene at 8:40 a.m. determining the cause of the fire, Smolsky said.
