INCIDENTS
• Burglary While Armed –
On Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 12:49PM,  Prince William County Police officers responded to the Acadia Run Apartments located in the 8400 block of Rosebay Ln. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a home invasion.

The victim, a 26-year-old man, was outside of his apartment when two armed men forced him back into the residence. The suspects then physically assaulted the victim and took several items from the apartment. The victim was treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The incident does not appear to be random.

• Shooting into a Residential Dwelling – On May 15, 2024 at 9:29PM,  Prince William County Police officers responded to the Prospect Cove Condominiums located in the 14100 block of Cuddy Lp. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a shots fired call.
The investigation revealed a group of men were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, multiple rounds were fired, striking an apartment and four unoccupied vehicles. The parties left in two vehicles described as a black Nissan Altima and a silver Chevrolet Malibu. No injuries or additional property damage were reported. The suspects were described as black males wearing ski masks and all dark-colored clothing.

• Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 2:11AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 400 block of Union St. in Occoquan (22079) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed the caller woke to multiple shots being fired. No injuries or property damage were reported. A shell casing was located in the roadway.

ARRESTS
Brandishing a Firearm | Road Rage Related –
On Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 4:42PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the area of Richmond Hwy. near Celestial Dr. in Woodbridge (22110) to investigate a brandishing. The investigation revealed the victim, a 32-year-old woman, and her 5-year-child were traveling in the above area when they were involved in a road rage incident with the driver of another vehicle, later identified as the accused. During the encounter, the accused brandished a firearm at the victim’s vehicle before the parties separated. No shots were fired. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Edwin Dale SIMS, was arrested.

Edwin Dale SIMS, 73, of 2676 Cast Off Lp. in Woodbridge
Charged with 2 counts of brandishing a firearm
Court Date: Pending | Bond: $1,000 Unsecured
