INCIDENTS
• Strong-Arm Robbery | Assault by Mob – On Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 4:57PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 10200 block of Farragut Ct. in Manassas (20109) to investigate an assault.
The investigation revealed a group of individuals were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the initial encounter, two unknown involved parties assaulted the victim, a 29-year-old man, before taking his phone and leaving the area. A short time later, the suspects and additional unknown individuals approached the victim and re-engaged in a physical altercation.
At one point during the encounter, acquaintances of the victim, a 52-year-old man, a 39-year-old woman, and a 17-year-old male, attempted to intervene. The adult acquaintances were struck while the juvenile was cut with a knife.
Eventually, the parties separated, and the police were contacted. The juvenile was treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries to his hand. The victim and adult acquaintances reported minor injuries. A police K-9 searched the area for the suspects who were not located. The suspects were only described as two black males and two black females.
• Shooting into a Residential Dwelling – On Monday, May 6, 2024 at 11:38PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 7600 block of Shelley Ln. in Manassas (20111) to investigate a shots fired call.
Officers initially responded to the area of Somerset Ln. and Whitehall Dr. where no evidence of a shooting was located. Further investigation revealed a residence in the above area was struck by gunfire before two men were seen running away. Bullet fragments were recovered at the residence. No injuries or additional property damage were reported.
Suspect Descriptions:
Two Hispanic males, one described as heavy set with dark-colored hair and a beard, shirtless and wearing light-colored pants while the other man had dark-colored hair, and was last seen wearing a light-colored shirt and light-colored shorts.
ARRESTS
• Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds – On Monday, May 6, 2024 at 7:30AM, the School Resource Officer (SRO) at Freedom High School located at 15201 Neabsco Mills Rd. in Woodbridge (22191) was notified of a student in possession of a weapon.
The investigation revealed school security found a student, identified as the accused, in possession of metal knuckles while investigating a tip received earlier that day. The SRO determined the knuckles were not part of any threat to other students, faculty, or staff.
Following the investigation, officers sought petitions against the accused, identified as a 16-year-old male student. After consultation with Juvenile Court Services, the case resulted in formal action and will be handled through the court process at a later date.
