Virginia Department of Transportation will hold a hybrid design public hearing Wednesday, May 8 on planned improvements at the I-95 Exit 160 interchange at Route 123 (Gordon Boulevard). The project aims to improve traffic flow, safety and bicyclist/pedestrian accessibility and connectivity.
To participate (listening or giving opinion or both) attend in person at Occoquan Elementary School, or virtually or by phone; learn more at vdot.virginia.gov/95and123. Ways to participate are described below. VDOT asks for comments by May 20.
The proposed improvements include:
• Replacing the northbound Route 123 loop ramp to southbound I-95 with a signalized left-turn to the southbound Route 123 ramp to southbound I-95
• Widening the southbound Route 123 ramp to southbound I-95 from one to two lanes
• Moving the Route 123 and 95 Express Lanes ramp intersection slightly south
• Realigning the southbound I-95 ramp to northbound Route 123
• Adding a shared-use path along northbound Route 123 from Annapolis Way to Devil’s Reach Road
• Repairing and replacing the deck of the southbound I-95 bridge over Occoquan Road
Here is how members of the community can participate:
1. Stop by the meeting between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, at Occoquan Elementary School, 12915 Occoquan Road, Woodbridge, VA 22192 to view displays and talk with project staff
