Woodbridge man, 66, dies from injuries after March 7, 2024 fall in PWC parking lot

Fatal Crash Investigation – Prince William County Police crash investigators were notified yesterday, Wednesday, March 13, 2024. of a pedestrian who died from injuries sustained March 7, 2024 while moving a trailer in the parking lot of 5 County Complex Ct. in Woodbridge (22193) at approximately 3:54 p.m. that day.

Police said that their investigation of the March 7 event revealed that a 66-year-old man was carrying a small trailer from one vehicle to another by hand through a gravel portion of the county parking lot when he tripped and fell. The trailer continued moving and rolled on top of the man’s upper body and leg. Eventually, the man freed himself and was transported to an area hospital where he was released a few days later.

According to PWC Police information director MPO Renee Carr,  on Tuesday, March 12, the victim experienced complications from the March 7 crash and was transported to the hospital where he died later that day as a result of injuries sustained from the initial incident. Due to the crash and injuries occurring in a municipal parking lot, the incident has been classified as a fatal crash.
