Officer-Involved Shooting Investigation – On February 13, 2024 at 3:23PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to an apprenticeship training center located in the 7000 block of Infantry Ridge Rd in Manassas (20109) for an initial report of a stabbing.
When officers arrived, they encountered a presumed male suspect armed with a knife near the front entrance. More than one officer opened fire with their department issued handguns, striking the suspect who was pronounced dead on scene.
Two stabbing victims who were believed to be involved in an initial altercation were located on scene and received first-aid before being transported to area hospitalsn. No other victims were located.
The incident was contained, and there was no active threat to the surrounding community. The Prince William County Police Department, at the request of Chief Peter Newsham, has asked for assistance from the regional Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) to oversee the investigation as an independent body, according to Lt. Jonathan Perot, who heads the PWPD public information office.
