PWC Police Crime Report for Jan. 31, 2023: Three arrests made

ARRESTS
• Strangulation –
On January 30 at 12:15AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 10400 block of Bristow Center Dr. in Bristow (20136) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed the victim, an 18-year-old woman, and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. While in the above area, the accused struck the victim multiple times before taking her phone and grabbing her neck. During the encounter, the two drove to another area in Manassas where the accused struck the victim again before dropping her off at a local business where police were contacted. While investigating the incident, officers located the accused in the Bristow area where he was detained without
incident. The victim reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Christopher Demetri NITIS, was arrested.

ª Attempted Malicious Wounding | Domestic Related – On January 30 at 8:08AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 13100 block of Putnam Circle,. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic dispute. The investigation revealed the victim, a 32-year-old woman, and a family member, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused threw a book and then a chair towards the victim. The victim was able to avoid being struck and uninjured. Eventually the parties separated, and the police were contacted. Following the
investigation, the accused, identified as Tony Alexander HERNANDEZ, was arrested.

• Felony Animal Cruelty On January 30 at 8:47AM, officers responded to the area of Verde Pl. and Piedmont Vista Dr. in Haymarket (20169) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed a call was received of a man, later identified as the accused, firing ahandgun into the ground by a wooded area near the above location. When officers arrived,they determined the accused was attempting to euthanize his 16-year-old cocker-spanieland poodle mixed dog. In doing so, the accused fired one round followed by several otherrounds until the dog was deceased. No additional injuries or property damage were reported. Animal Control Officers were contacted to remove the dog from the area. Following theinvestigation, the accused, identified as John James OGLE, was arrested.

Charged with felony cruelty to animals, shooting in a public place, and improper disposal of a companion animal
Court Date: Pending | Bond: Released on Personal Recognizance
