Manassas City Police report the Jan. 25, 2024 arrest of a suspect, William Callaway, in connection with a Jan. 14,, 2024, shooting in the Brentwood neighborhood area. Callaway was found to be illegally carrying a concealed handgun at the time of his arrest, according to the police report.

Aggravated Malicious Wounding
On January 14, 2024, at 4:19 p.m., Manassas City Police responded to the Brentwood neighborhood area for a report of a shooting. When arriving in the area officers located a 31-year-old male victim near the intersection of Digges Road and Forum Way., suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the leg. Officers began life-saving measures and summoned rescue personnel to the area. The victim was eventually transported to a local area hospital.
The police report said, City Police “extensively searched for potential victim(s), suspect(s), and additional crime scenes, which led the investigation to an apartment building in the 8600 block of Devonshire Court. Officers and Detectives interviewed several individuals and identified several persons of interest. At this time the shooting does not appear to be random, and there is no threat to the community. No further details will be released at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
