The Young Marines, a national youth organization headquartered in Dumfries, has appointed USMC (ret) Ernesto Febus of Dale City (Prince William County), Virginia to the board of directors.
With more than 44 years military and Defense Department contracting experience in personnel administration/management and as a contractor for the Department of Defense predominately focused on logistics, Febus brings a broad range of experience and expertise to the Young Marines.
Febus retired from the Marine Corps as a First Sergeant after 22 years of active-duty service. Following his Marine Corps service, he joined LMI government consulting where he is still serving, supporting the US Space Force Headquarters Installation and Mission office.
He previously served as the Installation and Logistics Officer for the DoD COVID-19 Task Force in 2020-2021. Febus performed as a project manager and senior consultant providing analytical support in the areas of Operational Contract Support (OCS), human capital assessment, strategic mobility, contingency planning and requirements development to several DoD organizations and Services.
Febus said he is “honored to be appointed to the Board of Directors of the Young Marines, and looks forward “to contributing in whatever area I am asked. To work with such a highly regarded youth organization where I can make a difference in the lives of youth, is icing on the cake for this Marine Corps retiree.”
According to the Young Marines news release, “Febus has a broad background in Marine Corps operational, training, and staff assignments including: training clerk Woman Recruit Training Battalion; automation clerk at HQMC Enlisted Assignment; Service Record, Diary and personnel chief Marine Barracks, PR; pay clerk 6th Motor Transport Bn; Admin Chief 9th Motor Transport Bn, Adjutant III MEF Tactical Exercise Control Group, Admin Chief, Instructor and Squad Advisor SNCO Academy, Okinawa; Admin Chief HQMC Enlisted Assignment Branch; Admin Chief, Staff Secretary CG MCCDC; 1stSgt PLC Sr Officer Candidates School and 1stSgt Kilo Company 3d Battalion 4th Marines.”
